BMW does not use a standard transponder system the way most domestic vehicles do. Their keys communicate with the car through an encrypted rolling code that changes every time the vehicle is started. This is part of BMW's EWS (Electronic Immobilizer System) on older models and the CAS (Car Access System) on newer ones.
If you lose a key, snap one in the ignition, or have a fob that stops working, you need someone with access to BMW's specific coding protocols. A generic key blank and a basic programmer will not work. Our technicians carry the right software and hardware to interface with BMW's onboard systems and get a new key paired to your car.
We cut and program new BMW keys at your location. If you have lost all of your keys, we can still create one from scratch using your vehicle's VIN and onboard computer data.
Most BMW models produced after 2010 use a proximity-based smart key that communicates wirelessly with the car. We program replacement smart keys so the vehicle recognizes them for keyless entry and push-button start.
Whether your BMW uses the older EWS system or the newer CAS/FEM platform, we have the diagnostic tools to sync a new key to your car's immobilizer.
Locked your keys inside your BMW? We use non-destructive techniques to get you back in without scratching the paint or damaging the door mechanism.
If your BMW key fob buttons are not responding or the range has dropped, the issue could be as simple as a dead battery or as involved as a failing circuit board. We diagnose and fix it.
Older BMW models with a physical ignition cylinder can develop issues over time. If your key gets stuck or the cylinder will not turn, we repair or replace it on-site.
